The SMS: SOS system a basic text-message based crisis and response referral hotline. The system can support any texter with: immediate emotional support, non emergency transportation, risk assessment, establish rapport with person in crisis, identify problems for individuals in crisis, referrals to community agencies, short-term counseling, self-help information, and distribution of victim information appropriate to relevant authorities. There are several variations to this model, such a child helplines that are outreach services solely to children, women’s violence/DV hotlines, trafficking and others. We can help you design as you need it!
What YOU need
- At least one staff member at your organization who can learn how the system and software works
- Laptop, SIM, GSM Modem and software
- Budget to buy SMS accounts
What WE give
- Create a customized web and/or phone messaging system for you.
- Set up short codes, and consult on technology purchases
- Train your staff (remotely or in-country) on how to set up and manage the system. Also provide user manuals in various languages
- If employing web-components, we can offer to host the system on US servers or install to your own
