Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world. An estimated 12.8 million men, women and children are regularly sold into sexual exploitation and forced labor. Many countries in the developing world suffer a lack of infrastructure, which prevents rural and vulnerable communities from obtaining information and support that could help citizens prevent and report instances of potential human trafficking. Many gaps and shortcomings in existing anti-trafficking work can be addressed by using simple, locally appropriate communication technologies and media.
Survivors Connects addresses this growing problem by developing and extending open source ICTs to enhance the anti-trafficking movement. These tools can help grassroots organizations to larger IGOs in coordinating investigation efforts, provide reports and information to rural and vulnerable communities, and monitor trafficking patterns. The technology is sophisticated but requires minimal infrastructure, allowing all to enjoy the benefits. We're a global group of experts who leverage our technical skills & passion for combating slavery in partnership with leaders who share this vision.
